Digimagine: Constructing 3D Sculpture with Hiba Ali
Led by artist Hiba Ali, participants in this workshop will learn about the open source application Blender, a 3D imaging program. Being able to create, modulate and edit sculptures in 3D enables us to create objects inconceivable in reality. By modulating surfaces, participants can create alternative and inventive forms and digitally imagine the different worlds – past, present and future – where these objects live.

fix. mend. use what you have. Fashion workshop with OE-O Studio
A conscious look at what we have, why we have it, and why do we always feel we need more. This two-part workshop with minimalist design house OE-O Studio will touch critically upon our buying culture, and ask participants to take a good look into their closets, choose a piece they would otherwise throw, and fix, mend or upcycle it into something new. Through learning and using simple techniques, clothing can have a new or longer life, which contributes to building a slower, more sustainable fashion industry.

Urban Conditions: Informal Markets. Tour with the Center for Architectural Discourse
On the surface, and in relationship to wider city networks, Al Quoz lends itself as a site of industrial production. However, a closer look at the nuances within the urban fabric reveals spatial qualities and conditions that also produce a vibrant public life. The Center for Architectural Discourse proposes a case study of the marketplace as an urban condition within Al Quoz.
