'From Alba to Arabia' A Highland Print Studio exhibition

Stop by a touring exhibition of contemporary printmaking work from Scotland. Join participatory workshops in printmaking techniques including: relief printing (linocut, woodcut, wood engraving), mono printing, drypoint, photo-litho and polymer photogravure. 
   
The touring exhibition will visit Stal Gallery, Muscat, Alserkal Avenue, Dubai, Art Jameel House of Traditional Arts, Jeddah and Wejha Arts Centre, Kuwait.

Relief Printmaking from Linocut

Learn how to design, hand cut and print from linoleum, using professional cutting tools, printing press and fine paper. Create distinctive and dynamic artworks.
   
3-6PM

MonoPrint and Drypoint

Discover just how dynamic printing inks can be. Monoprint allows the creation of incredible one off prints, maximising the mark making potential of oil based inks.Drypoint allows working directly into print plates with sharp points to produce unique lines and marks. Learn the intaglio method of inking and enjoy pulling prints from dampened cotton paper. Combine both techniques for extra special results.

Illustrated talk on Printmaking Techniques and the work of Highland Print Studio

An open access printmaking studio based in Inverness, in the Scottish Highlands. This will also include a guided tour of the From Alba to Arabia exhibition.

Learn the expressive art of woodcut printing, using professional cutting tools, press and fine paper. Woodcut has a distinctive graphic look, lending itself to strong design and pattern.
