“How does belonging, abandoning and inhabiting change our relationship to where we live?”


Alserkal Residency invites you to join 2019 Summer Cycle resident Sashikanth Thavudoz for Isolated Houses, an excursion investigating the relationships between built environments and nature. Sashikanth translates his personal experiences in Dubai in this off-site visit and through the context of displacement, he uses isolated houses to explore the temporality of urban experiences.

Sashikanth Thavudoz is the recipient of the Nasreen Mohammadie Scholarship. He exhibited a solo show in Leacart, Canada and has participated in several residencies including Fonderie Darling International, Canada, and Khoj Residency, India.
