Job Description & Responsibilities

A multi-faceted position, the Digital Media Executive at Alserkal is responsible for the management of social media channels and digital content creation and for all of the business’s initiatives. A strong writer and multimedia content creator, the ideal candidate will have the ability to deliver integrated digital media campaigns that deliver on strategic objectives. This role is naturally suited to an energetic and natural multi-tasker with a keen sense of attention to detail, and reports into the Associate Director of Marketing.

 

Digital marketing

  • Create digital marketing campaigns (including paid) for the entire community calendar (including but not limited to Quoz Arts Fest, Alserkal Art Week, Alserkal Art Season, Alserkal Lates, #ThisIsNotABuffet and Alserkal Arts Foundation activities)
  • Liaise with all teams across the business to gather content as required and provide feedback, prepare reports and analysis and discuss improvements to future campaigns
  • Working closely with the communications executive to build backlinks to the website as well as reflect website content across social channels to drive traffic to the website
  • Work with brand, communications executive and community relations teams to ensure that all digital channels are up to date with new community members, community events and map maintenance
  • Plan for and create archive footage for Residency public programmes and reading groups including video and photography

Campaign Development & Audience Engagement

  • Create campaigns and ideas to engage existing and prospective Alserkal audiences and encourage them to visit Alserkal Avenue, including programming suggestions, online content and campaigns
  • Create and monitor campaigns to generate leads for Alserkal Advisory and Alserkal’s event management services, creating audience targets and campaign assets, connecting to Pardot for a seamless experience, tracking and reporting
  • Consider audience segmentation in all digital work and ensure that key audiences have the right messages delivered to them
  • Generate data collection drives, including using Eventbrite or other tools, to build database
  • Work closely with all members of the marketing team to develop campaigns that deliver on strategic objectives
  • Lead brainstorms as required, involving the appropriate and most relevant stakeholders to develop concepts
  • Develop campaign digital media and video briefs and coordinate with videographers and animators, writing videography briefs, overseeing the storyboarding and creative process, and managing the editing of videos for campaigns

 

Social media marketing and management

  • Create social media plan for all Alserkal’s owned media channels, including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, Linkedin and Twitter
  • Increase social media following, reach and engagement throughout the year
  • Build out a channel strategy and accordingly develop monthly social media plans and develop posts on a weekly basis
  • Re-launch LinkedIn page to drive Alserkal’s employer brand, and engage the B2B community by leveraging Linkedin as a channel for thought leadership
  • Create a curated social media calendar for Alserkal Avenue
  • Build relationships with social media influencers to complement the community calendar, driving them and their audiences to visit the Avenue and/or our community members
  • Ensure live coverage of Alserkal events on social media
  • Manage the Quoz Arts Fest Instagram and Facebook accounts, and drive engagement so that they can be used successfully for future editions
  • Create paid social marketing plans and manage paid social during non-peak times
  • For day-to-day social media management, conducting in-house editing of video content and development of animated content such as gifs, simple animations, etc.

 

Newsletters & Database

  • Work closely with the content strategist to create newsletter strategy, reviewing best practice and seeking to increase open rate and click-through rate
  • Manage monthly newsletters and invites
  • Use Pardot to create landing pages to drive data collection and data insight, ensure newsletter templates are coded as per brand’s requirements and use Pardot to send newsletters to the appropriate databases
  • Develop database growth campaigns for social driving awareness of the Alserkal brand and establishing the brand’s initiatives in target markets
  • Preparing reports on newsletter engagement, including open rates, click-through rates, to gather insights on the channel’s efficacy in driving awareness of events, both physical and virtual and driving bookings and footfall

 

Skills & Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a digital content creation role
  • Passion for content planning and development
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linkedin, YouTube,
  • Keen interest in staying abreast of social media best practices
  • Excellent knowledge of photography/videograhy within the digital domain.
  • A demonstrated passion for both photographic and video content and a commitment to editorial integrity.
  • Experience with industry standard video and sound editing tools
  • Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
  • Good organization and project management skills
  • Adaptability and willingness to support areas outside the immediate scope of your role as needed
