The Junction is a performing arts space made by performers for performers. Its doors opened in November 2015 and with over 30 events in less than a year, it has established itself as a home for Dubai’s growing performing arts community. These have included an a Capella singing festival, stand-up comedy, a magic show, dance performances and various theatrical productions.
The Junction was conceived of and built as a space where local and regional talent can thrive, where creators and performers can risk being original, where collaboration and mutual development can occur, and where an appreciation for the arts can be cultivated into bigger audiences.
Past theatrical productions include Henrik Ibsen’s Pillars of Society, George Orwell’s 1984, the Palestinian play I Am Yusuf and Neil Simon’s Rumors. A number of plays have also been staged in diverse languages including English, Arabic, Hindi and Italian.
