101 Talks returns with a discussion with Arjun Burman, co-founder of H72 Productions and one of the creative minds behind The Junction, the independent community theatre located in Alserkal Avenue. Burman will discuss what constitutes community theatre, the ongoing growth of the theatre community in the UAE, and ways the public can get involved. The talk will also reflect on the craft and techniques used by theatre performers, as well the production elements used to develop a play from its formation to showtime.

About Arjun Burman
Arjun Burman considers Dubai his home having spent more than half his life in this wonderful city. Nine years ago he began his theatrical journey as a founding member of Backstage, Dubai's largest community theatre group. He has worked in every aspect of a theatrical production as an actor, director, writer, producer, lighting and sound designer and stage manager.
Some of Burman's past projects include The Crucible by Arthur Miller, The 39 Steps, Deathtrap, Hamlet, Rumors by Neil Simon and Art by Yasmina Reza. Currently, he is directing a modern adaptation of William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar which will be staged at the end of October.
