Alserkal Programming invites you on a monthly series of road trips to visit exhibitions, talks, performances and film screenings by galleries, arts institutions, and cultural initiatives around the country.
The next trip will take place on 12 August and will include visits to two art exhibitions in Sharjah.
1) Collectivity: Objects and Associations in the UAE Art World, at Maraya Art Centre
Collectivity is an exhibition that brings together artworks and objects lent from personal collections from across the United Arab Emirates. Rather than being acquired from collectors, institutions, or artists, the traditional faces of the art world, they are from the people who carry out the everyday labour that make the production, circulation, and interpretation of art possible within the country.
2) Beloved Bodies II at Barjeel Art Foundation
Beloved Bodies II presents a compilation of artworks drawn from the Barjeel Art Foundation collection that investigate representations of the human body, traversing themes of language, landscape, trauma and remembrance. Each work alludes to the body in a variety of ways, ranging from more literal representations of physical forms to subtle references to bodily experiences in certain social, natural and political contexts.

Road Trips are open to everyone and free of charge. However, spaces are limited and reservations are on a first-come- first-served basis.
